Listen: Levi Fuller & the Library — ‘Social Music’

Nikki Benson / November 1, 2013

Our very own Levi Fuller has just released a new EP. Check out what he had to say about it and listen below:

I’m very pleased to announce my first new release in almost four years – and the first ever under the name Levi Fuller & the Library. The current lineup, featuring Christopher Williams on drums and Jonathan Wooster on bass, quickly became a cohesive musical unit; as we got comfortable playing together, I knew I wanted to record a full length of original music with these guys, but that is, of course, a long and involved and delicate process.

In the meantime I decided to record something quickly, at home, to share with the world a little of what we’re working on. The result is the EP ‘Social Music, a collection of four cover songs (one by our friends the Foghorns, and three traditional tunes, favorites of mine featured on Volume 2 of the ‘Anthology of American Folk Music’). The songs were recorded and mixed at home over a couple weeks, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out. I’m even more excited to get in a studio with Jon and Christopher and work on a full length of my own songs.

Levi Fuller & the Library are playing an all ages show this Sunday night at the Crocodile Back Bar with Wind Burial (formerly known as Snowdrift) and GreenhornBluehorn.
