Lemmy Kilmister, Dead at 70Posted by Timothy Grisham
Ian Fraser Kilmister, better know as Lemmy has left the Earthly world, and with him a little bit of the essence of rock and roll. Born a preachers son, who would find himself traversing the history of rock and roll – Lemmy, to many was the embodiment of the rock ethos.
From seeing the Beatles at the Cavern Club, to playing in the Rockin’ Vickers, Sam Gopal, Opal Butterfly, Hawkwind, and most-notably Motorhead, Lemmy blazed an astonishing path of rock and roll, all the while helping define what would be considered metal after the emergence of the nwobhm bands.
Lemmy turned 70 December 24, 2015.
