Le Butcherettes Added To Queens of the Stone Age’s July Show at the Roseland

The wailing, Riot Grrrl reminiscents Le Butcherettes have been added to several dates opening for Queens of the Stone Age as they cruise up the West Coast, including one in Portland.   They’ll be joining QOTSA at the Roseland on July 28th as part of a tour to promote their new album Sin Sin Sin.  They’ve also been added to the Lollapalooza lineup on August 5th in Chicago.

The band is fronted by the wildly howling Terri Gender Bender, a recent transplant to L.A. from Guadalajara, Mexico who emits cathartic, articulately screamed lyrics that manage to remain melodic while at the same time jabbing a hard-growling edge that brings to mind the best of the early ‘90s.  She’s been making a name for herself with her room filling voice and the animated chaos of her live performance.  She’s joined by bassist Jonathan Hischke of Hella and Broken Bells and drummer Gabe Serbian of The Locust. NPR‘s All Songs Considered recently served up an exclusive premiere of “I’m Getting Sick of You“. And, check out MP3s for other album songs, “Henry Don’t Got Love” and New York.

And don’t forget—Queens of the Stone Age will be joining Soundgarden, Mastodon, and Meat Puppets two days later at the Gorge.
