La Roux is collaborating with Nile Rodgers from their new album.
Rodger’s who sat down with the Daily Star recently revealed that he been impressed by La Roux singer Elly Jackson, saying: “I totally fell in love with La Roux, it was just insane. I only work with people who are monsters, and I was impressed with how organic and cool Elly was. She’s the person that’s in my cross-hairs right now.”
Set to continue their partnership, Jackson and Rodgers will perform together in Switzerland. Jackson announced on her twitter that: ”For those of you that don’t know I’ll be singing with Nile Rodgers at the Montreux jazz fest on Friday night. Footage will hopefully follow.”
Since early 2011 La Roux, Jackson and multi-instrumentalist Ben Langmaid have been working on their sophomore album. Their debut in 2009 spawned the hit singles “In For The Kill” and “Bulletproof” and won a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
Rodgers, who has produced albums for artists such as Grace Jones, Diana Ross and Madonna, admitted that he enjoys working more with U.K artists such as La Roux,stating: ”British artists have a stronger knowledge base of music, it’s always experimental.”
