The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion have released a hip-shaking new single called “Bag of Bones.” The song stems from their upcoming record Meat And Bone.

Originally, the trio came out with a series of distortion-drenched albums in the ’90′s and early 2000′s before taking a hiatus for other musical projects. Now, after rekindling their fiery chemistry upon going on a recent tour, the band decided to record their first new set of songs since 2004′s Damages.

Known for being prolific and passionate, Jon Spencer howls with the best of them on this particular track. Sounding like an amalgamation of Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop, and David Yow, the singer gives an off-the-cuff vocal performance. Leading in with a harmonica romp, the track spits out bluesy riff after riff.

Meat And Bones comes out on September 18 via Boombox/Mom + Pop. Go ahead and listen to “Bag of Bones” over at Rolling Stone.
