Jóhann Jóhannsson created the wondrous soundtrack for the film “Copenhagen Dreams” that is due to appear in digital format.
The movie is a documentary about Denmark’s capital; specifically, looking at how the physical structures and architecture of Copenhagen inform residents’ way of life.
The revered Icelandic composer made the material several years ago given the film’s 2009 debut. The album was released very recently in a special edition vinyl form. His modern take on classical composition – which is evident in this soundtrack – combines baroque music, minimalism, drone, and electronic music.
The digital version of Copenhagen Dreams’ soundtrack will become available on July 31 via NTOV, Jóhannsson’s personal label. For individuals interested in the gatefold vinyl edition, follow the link to order on his website.
