Jason Lytle of Granddady Announces New Album

Jason Lytle, the frontman of Grandaddy, has announced that his new solo album will be released on Oct. 16 via Anti-.

The new record will be titled Dept. of Disappearance, and is a follow up to 2009′s Your Truly.  Lytle who is known for experimenting with unusual gear and sounds had this to say about the new album: “I have a lot of gear, from conventional and traditional to super-fucked and broken. And once those sounds get into the computer, it opens a whole other realm of tweakery.”

Earlier this year Grandaddy announced they would reunite for a series of shows.  So far the only American date is their appearance at this years Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco during the second week of August.
