Boise has been putting out a lot good music these days.  With Youth Lagoon‘s The Year of Hibernation topping year-end lists, and records like Brother Dan‘s The Orb, the Idaho capital has freed itself from the notion that it is just a needed tour-stop to make some gas money.

Hoping to build on a growing scene some dedicated, organized, individuals have launched the Treefort Music Fest, a four-day bonanza that runs from March 22 to 25, that aims to spotlight emerging artists from Idaho and beyond. Last week, Treefort unveiled an impressive first batch of artists — from Built to Spill to of Montreal. Today’s second bath includes a number of Seattle-area bands — Lemolo, Pickwick, Champagne Champagne — as well as Blitzen Trapper and a handful of other bands.
