Fall night shows for today and tomorrow have been canceled all across the East Coast due to Hurricane Sandy’s landfall.

Coming just a year after the last storm, Hurricane Sandy has caused evacuations in Manhattan that extend to the musical acts scheduled to come through.

Among those forced to cancel and reschedule are Swans and Devendra Banhart who were scheduled to play together, The National, Ted Leo, The xx, Ghostface Killah, Grimes and more.

Some venues have planned to reschedule the shows, while others remain uncertain. In light of the number of venues and their various locations throughout the evacuation zones in Manhattan and Brooklyn, all venues have closed down for tonight, leaving music fans to stay safe and listen from their own, hopefully safe, homes.

Louis C.K. was among those unable to perform – he had this to say, “I know that a lot of people are excited to come and they are fine with taking the chance but I really don’t want a pole to smash your face in because you saw some comedy.”
