Some bands just stick with you, as Hot Chip certainly has been proving for more than ten years. The English electronic band will be in town tomorrow with five full-length albums under their belt, including their 2012 summer release In Our Heads. The instantly catchy “Flutes” was the first teased song of the album in March, with follow-up singles “Night & Day” and “How Do You Do?” The new album overall has gathered generally positive feedback as the group’s clearest of efforts with their quirk and beats. Even the slower songs from Hot Chip like their love ballad “Look at Where We Are” from In Our Heads continues with pop elements that will surely have everyone at The Paramount Theater bobbing on Friday night.

Opening for Hot Chip will be the exciting Portland group Yacht, who will bringing their own peculiar electropop to the stage in Seattle. $30 might cut deep into your pockets, but with Yacht bringing it and Hot Chip riding this incredible new release, you’re sure to get plenty for your money. If for nothing else, come to see what older songs make it into Hot Chip’s set – remember that time you were at your first minimum wage retail job sweeping when you heard “Boy From School” and you’ve been hooked to their music ever since?
