Start the HONK! Fest West party with the preview show at The Crocodile. Thursday evening’s festivities will help fund the fun — all the cash raised will go to traveling bands participating in this year’s revelry. HONK! Fest West is not your average music festival. Part performance art, part community street fair, HONK Fest celebrates the best in street music culture. The bands are mobile and passionate, and will be filling Seattle’s public spaces with an eclectic collection of sights and sounds June 1st – 3rd. The annual fest is a family friendly affair and will provide HONK!ers of all ages a sonic carnival spectacular. The event is always free to the public (donations are appreciated) and this year’s lineup is the biggest yet. Twenty five bands from all over North America will infiltrate Seattle’s streets and parks to enlighten and entertain the fine people of our fair city.

14-piece punk marching band Orkestar Zirkonium will be parading their Balkan beats and brass through Honk! Fest. Hailing from Seattle, these purveyors of musical merriment will be on hand to celebrate their diverse sonic idioms. With influences ranging from Ethiopian jazz to Bollywood soundtracks, there are aural surprises lurking behind every corner. Orkestar Zirkonium is best experienced live and HONK! Fest is the perfect place to witness this mischievous marching band.
