Few keep it as fresh as Machinedrum does these days. The Berlin via Brooklyn producer’s glitched-out and bass-heavy tracks draw deeply from his early obsession with poly-rhythms and background as both a bassist and percussionist. It makes sense that he’s produced such funky and futuristic tracks for the likes of Theophilus London and Azelia Banks, in addition to collaborating with soulful vocalists like Tiombe Lockhart. Combine that with his work in Sepalcure (with Praveen Sharma) and Jets (with the excellent Jimmy Edgar), and you have the enviable body of work of a true beats addict.
