Dabrye has been seen as an innovator and a lynch-pin bridging the gap between the realms of hip-hop and electronic since his debut in 2001. With his sticky bass, smooth, head bobbin’ beats, collaborations that include J Dilla , Beans and MF Doom and a fan base that stretches from Thom Yorke to Jay-Z it was with good reason a 2011 viral call-to-arms to “Free Dabrye” was met with so much support. No one knew where Dabrye disappeared to but everyone understood his presence in the music world was dearly missed.
