Capitol Hill Block Party 2012: Dam Funk

After the certified s**tshow that was Capitol Hill Block Party Saturday Night, it’s a lot to ask for a musician to take the first slot of the main stage. LA electro-funk auteur Dam Funk did not shy from such responsibility, playing his set with confidence and swagger, as if Diplo & Company didn’t just turn Pike Street into a claustrophobe’s greatest fear. And his effort paid off in spades, as the small crowd quickly grew, even though the smell of brunch still wafted through the early afternoon air.
