Capitol Hill Block Party 2012: Kithkin

If you came to CHBP to discover new music then the Vera stage was the place to be. Each day incredibly talented acts busted out great sounds and enthusiastic sets and Kithkin was certainly one of the most exciting. Kithkin brings strong rhythmic beats and quick vocal progressions thanks to each of the 4 piece group. The quick tempos and catchy guitar rifts have an air of familiarity similar to indie favorites The Givers and Local Natives. Not to be content with mere mortal performances Kithkin set the bar high Sunday by passing out percussion sticks to the crowd, who eagerly played to the beat. Then taking it even further, drummer Ian McCutcheon once more came down from stage into the crowd and brought back a dozen fans up to the stage to dance for the next few songs. The moves were unexpected and warmly welcomed. If you have tickets to the long sold out Doe Bay Fest you don’t want to miss these guys.
