Industry giants Alicia Amiri and Jason Lajeunesse of Neumos have been lovesick. Actually, that’s not true, but they have formed a band entitled Lovesick Empire and they’re playing a show this Friday at The Showbox at the Market with The Moondoggies and The Cave Singers. As a band formed out of an employee band night concoction at Neumos, you might have seen Alicia Amiri and Jason Lajuenesse around town as a sultry, girl-fronted, indie-rock duo. Fueled by their passion for music, their gag became a regular gig, and they don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Their debut LP is nearly complete, and Lovesick Empire has some gifts to share with you. There will be 50 limited edition CD’s available, which include their smash-up cover of Beat Happening‘s “Indian Summer” and MGMT‘s “Kids.” Please enjoy the premiere of the song in the podcast below, and get the inside deets of Seattle’s new favorite band.
