The shoegazing, dream-popping, what-have-yous known as Asobi Seksu are back in town yet again, this time with new album Flourescence in tow.

Last year found them with Anomie Belle at the Triple Door classy-ing up the joint with a lovely, ethereal, and mostly quiet once-in-a-lifetime acoustic set that revolved mostly around a piano. It was perfectly lovely. This time they’ll turn up the volume and distortion once more for the audience at Chop Suey, and God bless’em for it. As fun as that Triple Door show was, the volume was missed. The band is clearly more comfortable onstage at clubs, straddling the line between what some folks call playful dream-pop with psychedelic touches and others might call a deep My Bloody Valentine influence.
