In a recent interview with Madison.com, Avey Tare revealed that Animal Collective are at work on their next LP. It will be the group’s first full-length since 2009′s Merriweather Post Pavilion.
According to Avey Tare, the group recently finished two weeks of writing sessions in Baltimore, where they put together five new songs. Recording will begin in January. “We’re really excited about this record,” he said. “It’s been really fun jamming with those guys again.”
This past July, Dave Portner told The Baltimore Sun that the group had approximately ten new songs written. With the new material there are about 15 new tracks to take to the studio.
