You knew I wasn’t going to pass over the Seattle hip-hop showcase. This is going to be a special show for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, this is the first time in history that a Seattle native hip-hop act has headlined The Paramount. Blue Scholars, you deserve this honor and I’m sure you’re going to rock it. This is also going to be an exceptional show because this is the creme de la creme of Seattle’s hip-hop scene. The only thing that would have made this showcase better would have been Grynch, Helladope, and Shabazz Palaces, but that goes without saying. We can’t have too many bands in a single evening, so with Blue Scholars headlining, this is the perfect bill.

There are still tickets available to this show. Here are two sentences on why you should see each band:

Blue Scholars 9:30pm:
Blue Scholars have been playing shows for over a decade and representing the younger generations; they are as close to hip-hop royalty as we’re going to get. Blue Scholars can rock a show like nothing you have ever seen, and tonight’s show will be one more reason they’ll be going down in history.

Brother Ali 8:30pm:
Brother Ali is strong, ironic, and knows how to spit a verse. The audience might be too busy dancing to his beats to pay close attention to his lyrics, but in-between the bounce, his lyrics will shock and awe.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 7:35pm:

Macklemore is one of the best performers to be seen. His music spans the emotional ranges of reflective, silly, elated, crazy, and solemn, but no matter what he’s portraying, the crowd never stops rocking.

Fresh Espresso 6:55pm:

Sasquatch!, Capitol Hill Block Party, Bumbershoot, City Arts Fest–if all of these festivals wanted to get their hands on Fresh Espresso, they must be on to something. Check out the works of P Smoov, Rick Rude, and Terry Radjaw for yourself!

Mash Hall 6:30pm:

Mash Hall is entertaining as all get-out. They have a wild amount of energy, husky raps, and a b-boy.
