Baby Dee, 200 Years @ The Triple Door | April 28th, 2010 | 7:30PM | $12

Baby Dee is best encapsulated by the definitions of the Romantic period or art. She is able to wrap the world at-large in blankets of emotion, evoking heartfelt sighs, healthy laughter, and uncontrollable sobs. Grabbing life by the hair and pulling out every inch of zest is the essence of performance and it’s this blend of art, cabaret, and skill that makes Baby Dee a can’t miss as she tours to support her latest Drag City release, A Book of Songs for Anne Marie.

Yet Baby Dee is just the butter-cream frosting on the bill tonight at The Triple Door. Tonight marks the debut of 200 Years, and though the name may not be familiar—the duo of Elisa Ambrogio and Ben Chasny will be to fans of guitar experimentation. The Seattle transplants have explicitly chosen tonight to grace the Emerald City with their latest project.

Tonight presents an opportunity to see Drag City’s finest at one of Seattle’s finest and most intimate venues. The combination of unpredictability and reliability is rare on a bill but it’s expected in waves tonight at The Triple Door.
