Allen Stone @ The Paramount Theatre 12/7 with Lemolo & ChoklatePosted by Melissa Daniels
Seattleites unite. Funk master Allen Stone is set to play The Paramount Theatre on December 7, kicking off the month in soulful style. Stone, a Washington state native, has had quite the wild ride since his 2011 debut. Thanks to his throwback soulful pipes, that have been compared to the likes of Marvin Gaye, Steve Wonders and Bill Withers, and his socially conscious music, Stone burst on to the scene full steam ahead.
Stone’s self-titled debut album, released in October 2011, features original works that touch on everything from matters of the heart to the state of the union, and even society’s hang up on technology. It broke into the Top 10 Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and solidified a spot in Top 5 iTune’s R&B/Soul charts. He’s also garnered the attention of the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brian and Carson Daly.
On Friday, Stone will be joined by female dream-pop duo Lemolo, two gorgeously blond babes from the Washington shores of Poulsbo. The ladies debuted their first release The Kaleidoscope, on July 3 of this year and have been named one of the “Best New Seattle Bands” according to the Seattle Magazine.
Seattle-born soul singer Choklate was raised on purely gospel music, and it wasn’t until she was out on her own that she was exposed to all else that was of the music world. She, too, will be gracing the stage with her soft, pure R&B sound that is sure to have the audience grooving to the beat. Choklate’s most recent release FLY was produced by Seattle legend Vitamin D.
