This year’s City Arts Fest is going to be a unique amalgamation of live music, art, educators and more. The initial lineup of bands has now been published for the event.

Running from October 17 through October 20, City Arts Fest will boast multiple live shows each night at a cast of stellar clubs and venues across Seattle. David Byrne and St. Vincent’s highly anticipated collaboration will kick the week off on Wednesday, October 17 at the Fifth Avenue Theatre. Other musical highlights include Ghostland Observatory, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Ravenna Woods, Fly Moon Royalty, Tomten and much, much more.

The Urban Arts Adventure is another leg of the festival which transforms Seattle’s businesses, buildings, and streets into a artful playground to explore. Unannounced music performances and art displays will be hosted at non-traditional venues scattered throughout the city. Moreover, novel tours will be mapped out to navigate via bicycle races and scavenger hunts.

A third exciting enterprise of City Arts Fest this year is the Culture Club – a space developed in a storefront business to host a blend of speeches, presentations, performances, art galleries, and food expos.

August 2 is the date that all-access wristbands as well as individual tickets go on sale – and at a discounted rate! Until then, visit the 2012 Heineken City Arts Fest website to gather all the pertinent details.
