107.7 The End presents: Grouplove, The Lonely Forest, Chain Gang of 1974 at Neumos 12/06Posted by Bebe Besch
After the five group members in Grouplove met and collaborated musically on the island of Crepe together, their connection was sealed. Bonding over music on this chance encounter lead to their eventual first EP in 2010 and the relocation of the members who came from LA, Brooklyn, and as far as London. This year they’ve released their debut full-length album, Never Trust A Happy Song and been touring extensively with their indie rock tunes. Just months ago Grouplove headlined a show at The Vera Project, and are now the first act for 107.7 The End’s Deck The Hall Ball at The Key Arena on 12/7/2011 (amongst artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club, and more!). To start off the festivities before the ball, they’re the main act the night prior at Neumos for the T’Was The Night Before Deck event. Check out a few of their catchy songs below:
The Lonely Forest enters the stage second with their quality crafted alternative rock songs. The band, locals to Washington state being from Anacortes, have previously received such praise as wining the Experience Music Project Sound Off! competition and swiftly signed to Chris Walla’s label Trans, on which Walla helped mix and produce their 2011 release Arrows.
Out of Colorado comes opening psychedelic rock band, The Chain Gang of 1974. The electronic act is made up of Kamtin Mohager who is particularly influenced by 80s acts like Talk Talk and Tears For Fears. Mohager is a multi-instrumentalist and released his debut album as The Chain Gang of 1974, Wayward Fire, in the summer of 2011 and supported bands earlier this year such as Tapes N’ Tapes and Washed Out. Check out The Chain Gang of 1974 first at Neumos on 12/6!
